Shir hama'alot, beshuv Adonai et shivat Tziyon hayinu kecholmim. Az yimalei sechok pinu ulshonenu rina, az yomru vagoyim higdil Adonai la'asot im eleh. Higdil Adonai la'asot imanu, hayinu semeichim. A song of ascents. When Adonai brought back the captives of Zion, we were like dreamers. Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with song; then they said among the nations: «Adonai has done great things for them». Adonai has done great things for us, and we rejoiced. Bring back our captives, Adonai, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow in tears will reap in joy. He goes along weeping, carrying the bag of seed; he will come back with joy, carrying his sheaves.

For He is God who feeds and sustains all, does good to all and prepares food for all the creatures He has created. Blessed are You, Adonai, who nourishes all.

In the days of Mattathias son of Yochanan, the High Priest, the Hasmonean, and his sons, when the wicked Greek kingdom rose up against Your people Israel to make them forget Your Torah and turn them away from the laws of Your will, You in Your great mercy stood by them in their time of distress: You championed their cause, judged their claim and avenged their wrong; You delivered the strong into the hands of the weak, the many into the hands of the few, the impure into the hands of the pure, the wicked into the hands of the righteous, and the arrogant into the hands of those who engage in Your Torah. You made a great and holy name for Yourself in Your world, and for Your people Israel You brought about a great salvation and redemption as on this day. Then Your children came into the sanctuary of Your house, cleansed Your temple, purified Your holy place, kindled lights in Your holy courts, and established these eight days of Chanukah to give thanks and praise to Your great Name.

For this day is great and holy before You, to cease work and rest on it in love, as Your will commands. In Your will, Adonai our God, grant us that there be no distress, sorrow or sighing on our day of rest. Show us, Adonai our God, the consolation of Zion Your city and the rebuilding of Jerusalem Your holy city, for You are the Master of salvations and the Master of consolations.

May the Merciful One bless me (my wife or my husband, and my children) and all that is mine,

us and all that is ours, just as our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were blessed in everything, from everything, with everything; so may He bless all of us together with a complete blessing, and let us say: Amen.

May it be Your will that the master of this house not be shamed or humiliated, neither in this world nor in the world to come; may he prosper in all his dealings, may his possessions be successful and close at hand, may no harm rule over the work of his hands, and may no sin or wrongful thought come before him, from now and forever.

May merit be pleaded on high for them and for us, to secure peace; may we receive blessing from Adonai and kindness from the God of our salvation, and find grace and good favor in the eyes of God and people.
Harachaman hu yanchilenu yom shekulo Shabbat umenucha lechayei ha'olamim.
May the Merciful One let us inherit the day that is entirely Shabbat and rest, for life everlasting.
Harachaman hu yechadesh aleinu et hachodesh hazeh letova velivracha.
May the Merciful One renew this month for us for good and for blessing.

May the Merciful One let us inherit the day that is entirely good.
Harachaman hu yechadesh aleinu et hashana hazot letova velivracha.
May the Merciful One renew this year for us for good and for blessing.
Harachaman hu yakim lanu et sukkat David hanofelet.
May the Merciful One raise up for us the fallen sukkah of David.

May the Merciful One make us worthy of the days of the Messiah and the life of the world to come. He gives great salvation to His king (on Shabbat and festivals: He is a tower of salvation to His king) and shows kindness to His anointed, to David and his descendants forever. He who makes peace in His high places, may He make peace for us and for all Israel; and say: Amen.

Fear Adonai, you His holy ones, for those who fear Him lack nothing. Young lions may be in want and go hungry, but those who seek Adonai shall not lack any good. Give thanks to Adonai, for He is good, for His kindness is forever. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. Blessed is the one who trusts in Adonai: Adonai will be his trust. I was young and now I am old, and I have not seen a righteous person forsaken, with his children begging for bread. Adonai will give strength to His people; Adonai will bless His people with peace.
